What to Expect During Your Emergency Dental Appointment
At our clinic, every patient is treated as we would expect to be treated ourselves – with compassion, patience, and respect.
During your emergency visit, we will aim to diagnose your dental problem quickly and discuss the most suitable treatment options with you. Once agreed, we will carry out your treatment as comfortably and efficiently as possible.
We are experienced in treating patients who are in considerable pain as well as those who feel nervous or anxious about dental care. Our friendly dental team will ensure your emergency treatment is handled smoothly and successfully.
Please note that our emergency appointments are focused on addressing your immediate dental issue. A full dental examination is not included. If you require further treatment, you will need to book a separate appointment for a comprehensive check-up.
What Counts as a Dental Emergency?
If you experience any of the following symptoms, we recommend contacting a dentist as soon as possible:
Severe pain, bleeding, or swelling after treatments such as root canals or fillings
A lost, cracked, or fractured tooth
Toothache that doesn’t improve with painkillers and has lasted more than 2 days
A lost filling or crown
Bleeding following a tooth extraction
Mouth abscess or infection
Injury to the tissue around the mouth, gums, tongue, or lips
Damage to teeth caused by an accident
If you notice any of these symptoms, please call us immediately. Delaying treatment can increase the risk of your dental problem becoming more serious, potentially more painful, and more costly to treat.
After-Hours Emergency Dental Care
We provide same-day emergency treatments during our regular opening hours. If you experience a dental emergency outside of our clinic hours, please call the surgery and follow the pre-recorded instructions for accessing urgent care.
